Fato: SWU não é, na vocação, um festival de música. Foi o próprio Eduardo Fischer, o publicitário idealizador do evento, quem disse que a música era secundária “porque a maior preocupação do jovem não é com a música, e sim com o futuro do planeta”.

Então o SWU era primeiramente um evento de sustentabilidade? Infelizmente, só na fachada. Bastaram algumas horas por lá para confirmar : o SWU foi mesmo um evento de propaganda e marketing. A música era boa, mas a sustentabilidade era de plástico.

Chegando no estacionamento do Anhembi, em São Paulo, o primeiro contato com a estrutura do SWU decepciona. É um dos ônibus que leva o público para Itu. Ele solta muita fumaça preta e parece surrado por anos de estrada.

Na hora de comprar a passagem, outra surpresa desagradável. “R$ 30″, informa a moça. Trinta reais pra ir e voltar de Itu, tá OK, pensamos. “Não, R$ 30 só de ida”, esclarece a funcionária. Ou seja, pra voltar de Itu serão mais R$ 30 por cabeça. Incentivo ao transporte coletivo versão SWU não sai barato, não!

VERMELHA 1 X 0 VERDE

A viagem é rápida e tranquila e logo estamos na Fazenda Maeda, local do evento. Corremos para pegar a parte final do set do Aeroplane, bem groovado num jeito disco-house de ser. Mixhell entra em seguida, com seleção bem pop (Iggor Cavalera tocando “Rhythm Is A Dancer”, do Snap!; para muito metaleiro isso sim é prova de que nosso planeta está perdido) e momentos de euforia com os solos animais de Iggor na bateria.

Falando em animais, restos mortais de centenas deles vão mudando de cor nas grelhas da praça de alimentação ali do lado: é a linha de montagem de espetos “Mimi” trabalhando a todo vapor. O que mais sai? “De carne [bovina]“. Nem precisava dizer. Se tem um cheiro que marcou a “experiência” SWU nas primeiras horas, foi o de carne bovina assada. Justo a bovina, cuja criação é de longe a mais nociva ao meio ambiente.

Dando uma geral nessa praça de alimentação, procuramos sinais que a diferenciasse da praça de alimentação do rodeio de Jaguariúna. Pois em meio a litros de refrigerante sendo deglutidos em copos de plástico, espetos e mais espetos, pizzas gordurosas, salgadinhos industrializados, o cardápio clássico do junk food, eis que avistamos, tímida no canto, a palavra “vegieburger” (grafado errado mesmo, faltando um g, tudo bem, coisas de falta de familiaridade). Ah, ufa!

DANÇANDO NAS BITUCAS

De volta à tenda eletrônica, vemos Gui Boratto entrando ovacionado e, mesmo com um live que começa paciente e discreto, segura o povo, que vai sendo absorvido por camadas cada vez mais intensas de minimal-tech melódico. Dançamos felizes em cima das centenas de copos de plástico e bitucas de cigarro que vão se acumulando no chão. Culpa do povo? Também, mas cadê as latas de lixo? Cinzeiros então não existem. Tudo bem que distribuíram recipientes de bituca nas entradas, mas não foi pra todo mundo (nós não ganhamos) e quem garante que os que receberam andaram com eles o tempo todo?

Fomos para um rolê pela Maeda e passamos por diversas empresas conhecidas por seu engajamento (cof! cof!) na causa ambiental como Oi, Nestlé, Coca-Cola, e, ah, agora sim, Greenpeace. Ops, não não, é Greenspace na verdade. Heineken Greenspace. É nesse desfile de logomarcas que grita histérica a grande contradição do SWU: na vitrine, ele sorri todo paz e amor, “vamos salvar o planeta”; do lado de dentro, ele grunhe e ri cinicamente, “vamos consumir, gente, vamos consumir!”

Como que para sublinhar essa falta de sinceridade na mensagem, apareceu outra mega-incongruência, revelada pela sempre atenta Flavia Durante: a Fischer tem entre seus clientes a Monsanto, rainha dos transgênicos no mundo e verdadeiro Satanás para ambientalistas de todas as gradações. Quer dizer…

AH, COMO É BOM SER PREMIUM

De volta ao rolê, seguimos em direção ao gramado principal, onde ficam os dois grandes palcos do evento. Como tínhamos credenciais, pudemos adentrar a área “premium” do evento.

Aqui entramos em outro planeta, o tal mundo melhor que já nos foi anunciado em tantas publicidades de condomínio de Alphaville (cidade “premium” que, ironicamente, fica no caminho de São Paulo para Itu). Aqui, o ambiente respira “seleção”. Menos gente circulando, mais opções de comida (mexicano, temaki de salmão, aqui um caso de comida mais saudável e eco-correta, mas para poucos), a chance de disputar espaço no balcão com algum artista do festival.

Se vamos falar em nova mentalidade, em consertar os velhos vícios do mundo, o SWU perdeu uma grande chance de mostrar coerência entre teoria e prática ao ser mais um evento endossando a tradição Casa Grande & Senzala da nossa terra querida, contaminada por essa doença anti-social que faz todo mundo querer ser VIP (ou levar vantagem, como queira) em tudo na vida.

O mundo sustentável será, seguramente, um mundo menos desigual, mais coletivo, mais solidário, mais humanitário. O mundo da cabeça antiga tem a ver com segregação, individualismo, lucro acima de tudo e consumismo.

Com água a R$ 4, refris a R$ 6, cheese-burguers toscos a R$ 12, pista premium, área premium, camping premium, a gritante divisão ente dois mundos, qual é mesmo o mundo que o SWU está defendendo?

Para completar, soam mesquinhas e gananciosas uma série de restrições impostas ao público: fichas de um dia não valem para outro; não pode entrar com água ou comida no festival trazida de fora; não havia bebedouros ou qualquer fonte de água gratuita etc etc.

ECO-LEVIANDADE

Um dos grandes desafios do movimento ambiental é convencer a população a trazer hábitos mais eco-conscientes para o dia a dia, de maneira realista e sem parecer chato.

O SWU manobrou demais para o outro lado: fez sustentabilidade parecer brincadeira, superficial e leviana, curtição de fim de semana. Todo mundo vai lembrar daquele incrível labirinto de lixo compactado, mas quantos começarão a separar o lixo no dia seguinte em casa?

Apesar da tecla ter sido o tempo todo “começa com você”, ajudaria muito se o exemplo viesse de cima.
